Meet our Staff

photo Rebecca McGill - Owner/Director/Instructor

Rebecca McGill received her early ballet training at Blue Springs Ballet where she became a member of their pre-professional ballet company at the age of 14. She attended Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts High School for 4 years as a dance major and a technical theater minor, graduating with top honors. During her time at Paseo, Ms. McGill also attended summer dance intensives and participated in classes at highly regarded dance institutions including Joffrey Ballet in New York City. 

Ms. McGill went on to train as a dance major at the University of Missouri-Kansas City under Mary Pat Henry, Paula Weber, DeeAnna Hiett, Catherine Plavcan, and the late Leni Wylliams. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel and study with numerous master teachers such as Fernando Bujones. While at UMKC, she trained and performed in ballet and modern techniques as well as jazz, dance history, anatomy, improvisation, choreography, Flamenco, costume design, and pas de deux.

Ms. McGill has been teaching dance for 20 years and has choreographed countless pieces during her career. She draws from the classics, yet strives to be innovative and current when selecting subject matter for her choreography. An avid life-long learner, Ms. McGill continues to train and expand her knowledge of dance pedagogy through conventions, master classes, and workshops. She is constantly looking for inspiration through books and blogs – seeking new and improved ways to teach. She truly has a passion for teaching dance – inspiring her students to develop as artists, while providing them with a solid foundation in dance technique. Many of Ms. McGill’s students have gone on to dance professionally and/or at the university level.

Boundless Dance Academy is the fulfillment of Ms. McGill’s lifelong dream to operate a business doing something she loves – teaching dance! She currently resides in Kansas City, MO and is the proud mother of 4 amazing children.

photo Linda Battagler - Office Manager

Linda attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville and William Jewell College in Liberty - graduating from William Jewell with degrees in Business Administration and Secondary Education. She has worked in various business administration roles over the past 40 year and is the proud mother of two adult children. Her son Shawn is an attorney in the Springfield area and her daughter Rebecca is the Director of Boundless Dance Academy.

Linda joined Adult Tap at Boundless Dance Academy and loves the challenge both mentally and physically. She enjoys helping all the families in the office and getting to know each student. She is newly retired from her day job and is ready to take on new and exciting personal challenges, while helping Rebecca fulfill her dream. 

photo Roxanne Bootka - Dance Instructor

Roxanne began dancing at the age of 3. She trained in multiple genres of dance, including: jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, tumbling, lyrical, and hip hop. She danced competitively for 6 years and was awarded the prestigious title of Dancer of the Year at her studio in 2002. She later went on to teach there for 7 years. 

Roxanne has a strong technical dance background and a talent for highlighting the best in each student in her choreography. She attends conventions and master classes, where she acquires the latest industry training techniques and gains inspiration for the classroom.

Roxanne has been teaching at Boundless Dance Academy since we opened in October 2013. She works during the day in the medical field and is the proud mother of one daughter, Vivienne. 

We are fortunate to have her passion and enthusiasm for teaching here at BDA!

photo Roselynn Chilton - Dance Instructor

Roselynn began dancing at the age of three at Dance in the Rockies in Durango, CO. At the age of six her family moved to Knoxville, TN where she was a cheerleader for Upward Cheer for two years. Her family moved again at the age of eleven to Independence, MO. There, she began dancing again and trained in multiple styles of dance including: tap, jazz, ballet, modern/lyrical, hip hop, pointe, and musical theater. She has attended multiple dance conventions, including Tremaine, The Pulse, and Hollywood Dance.

Roselynn recently took a couple years off dancing and became a mother of a beautiful little girl, Adleey. She works full time as a Patient Account Specialist for Cerner.

Roselynn is excited to join the BDA staff, alongside her new co-workers, several of whom where her instructors during her years of training.

photo Jordan Hayes - Dance Instructor

Jordan received her dance training in multiple genres, including: Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. She enjoyed performing and had the opportunity to dance competitively for a few years.

She has a heart for children and enjoyed teaching dance for nearly 9 years. Jordan stepped out of dance for a few years; but has been back teaching since 2017. She continues to learn by taking classes and attending dance conventions.

Jordan works during the day as a 1-year old teacher in a daycare and is a proud mother of two children, Lorelai and Brock. She is thrilled to be a part of the amazing BDA family!

photo Tara Jackson - Dance Instructor

Tara was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska where her passion for dance/choreography began.  Her experience in dance/choreography began in the early years.  Tara started out in Drill Team for several years and then moved onto dance team/Pom Squad. She attended Omaha North High School where she was Captain of the Pom Squad for two years and where she began to tap into her choreography abilities/skills.  She choreographed for the Pom Squad until she graduated high school.  

After high school, Universal Dance Association (UDA) extended an invitation to Tara to become a part of the nationally known Dance Association professional staff. For two years, through UDA, Tara traveled as a professional dance instructor, teaching dance to high school dancers all over the U.S. Her dance experience further includes serving as the captain/choreographer while attending college at Wayne State College; two seasons as an Omaha Beef Prime Dancer in the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the Omaha Beef Football team; and she danced two seasons with the Omaha Night Hawks dance team, United Football League (UFL).

Tara went on to dance professionally for the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders in the National Football League (NFL) for four years (seasons 2013/2014-2016/2017). During this time, she served as one of the Co-Captains of the KC Chiefs Cheerleaders. During this experience, Tara had the opportunity to choreograph for the KC Chiefs Cheerleaders for three years. Her professional experience as a KC Chiefs Cheerleader included opportunities to travel internationally and domestically providing entertainment and giving back to the U.S. Troops and their families while on a variety of military tours. 

Since becoming a KC Chiefs Cheerleader Alumni in 2017, Tara has continued to provide professional choreography for the KC Chiefs Cheerleaders. Tara is currently both a Hip Hop Instructor and Hip Hop Cardio Instructor at Dance Fit Flow in Kansas City, MO. For the past three years, Tara has worked as a Hip Hop Instructor at Fearless Dance Center, based in Raymore MO.  She is professionally certified as a WERQ Dance Fitness Instructor which is a fun dance fitness workout class based on pop and hip hop music. Tara continues to offer choreography, training, and instructional classes, camps, workshops, and private dance training lessons for individuals auditioning/competing at the high school, college, and professional level.

photo Kyrsten Mormino, Dance Instructor

Kyrsten began her dance career at the age of four and is trained in multiple genres of dance including: jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and tumbling.  She danced for her high school and competed on a dance studio team for three years.  Kyrsten has a substantial understanding of technique and enjoys matching the outstanding energy of her students. 

Kyrsten danced for Boundless Dance Academy since we opened in 2013 and performed a senior solo with us.  She is currently a student at Rockhurst University studying Speech Pathology and Spanish with ambition to work with language-impaired children. 

She is excited to continue being part of the BDA family!

photo Morgan Perez - Dance Instructor

Morgan has been dancing since the age of 6. She trained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, tumbling, hip-hop and tap. She was a member of her high school dance team and was named captain her senior year. She helped choreograph multiple hip hop routines for their team and even returned to choreograph for them while in college. 

Morgan went to Missouri Western State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing with a minor in dance. While obtaining her minor, she was able to study a wide variety of dance styles. She also choreographed and performed in their showcase. In addition, she was a member of the dance team for 3 years and choreographed routines for them. While living in St. Joseph, MO she taught Jazz/Lyrical at a local studio and choreographed for their competition group.

Morgan has a love for dance and a passion for choreographing and teaching students. She continues to dance here at BDA and is thrilled to be a part of the family!

photo Elizabeth Schonfeldt - Dance Instructor

Elizabeth began her dance training at the age of three in the Northland. She trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, and lyrical. She went on to dance with the Northwest Dance Company at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, where she majored in public relations.

She continued dancing as an adult and danced competitively for two years. Elizabeth taught tap/jazz combo classes for four years, until the birth of her second son in October 2014. She is thrilled to be back in the dance world and joining the BDA family!
